Patterns

I have massive amounts of sketchbooks filled with things like this...

I'm reformed

This motto no longer takes appurtenance in my life. I am now only marginally fussy as opposed to massively fussy

Its sickening really

I haven't got a scanner. But i like drawing on cardboard, its my new favourite thing.

Oh and before anyone thinks anything:

a) Yes the you is annoyingly out of line. The perils of working in pen.

b) I haven't turned mushy in the brain. I am just thinking of a retort to put at the end of it.

Im in the north

Technology isn't allowing me to upload any of the amazing stuff I have been doing.

Either that or the ridiculously cheap pints

I like drawing bikes but riding bikes makes me throw up (sometimes)

I was in London recently (oh the irony) and went on a bike ride on the Boris Bikes. On that particular day i was feeling ill, very ill, and half way up Tottenham Court road was sick. But undeterred i drew some bikes rather crudely whilst i recovered.

I love you as much as a fish loves riding bike

which probably isn't very much. Parrots however, they LOVE riding bikes.

Pac-Man Moleskine stuff

This is a mix of lots of very bizzare band names all of which i think are very excellent and 'Capactiy Alison' is an ongoing family joke because we are cool like that...

Very quick liney people. This black pen was my favourite one but it has gone missing, i offer a very rewarding reward if its found though.

Rubber bandy doodley things

Goblins knocking at our door is a strangely all too common event. The man probably in reality looked NOTHING like a goblin

Mostly VERY quick doodles and brain mess.

PIZZA!!!

What is oil spray?! These questions are still unanswered in my brain

Just some hand drawny stuff (i fear i am beginning to get typecast) of overheard conversations. This is nowhere near the finished piece which will remain under wraps.... However it is a glimpse. Some definitely work better than others

"Whats oil spray?" Yes, what is oil spray, such questions in life i fear may forever go without an answer. Or its just oil in a spray can. Who can tell?

I dont know, would they look pimp? What is it that could look pimp? I'm imagining maybe white loafers. They could look awful, or pimp. Or both, something that looks pimp has a high chance of looking awful.

"Oh sweet Boddingtons" I haven't uploaded the Boddingtons bit, but i have gone for the colours associated with it. I will have to try it in order to comment on whether such a phrase is applicable. I'd guess it isnt.

Again, What is oil spray? but this time with a darker H and L. Because the L and H are crucial.

My memory is failing me

Because i had forgotten where i had put my animation on memory. I'm sure there is some irony there.

Then i found it. Result. I may add the rip on my wall was caused by me. Damn photos on walls.

Explicit type is rude

Next step is to create an explicit type face...

I like old movies

In particular this one...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EWYW72zp0Ow

If you haven't watched it, then your life will never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever be complete.

You don't have to thank me straight away

Just 2 days left as a teenager

So i thought i would draw something which i hope to change in the upcoming adult years (sigh)

These are the foods i don't eat. Ok in reality there are far more foods i don't eat but i couldn't remember them at the time. I think i should now spend the next 2 days not eating these gross things and then start trying to eat them. Eww

A hint

This is the sketchbook i am using for the summer project. It was a generic black cover sketchbook so i covered it with an adorable material. I was surprised it worked if i am honest. Im pleased with it. The sketchbook isn't the best though, certain pens really run through the paper. This makes me sad

I wasted my money on this?!

So yeah, i wasted my money on a certain book. It probably shouldn't be a waste but i have read it and the funnest thing i could think about doing with it was drawing it. Well the contents, not the book, that wouldn't be fun.

Akzidenz Grotesk. A boring type face. Poorly replicated too.

You've always been fawning

This was a quick drawing whilst my cat was watching me intently. I know its a cat but i'm pretty sure it understood what i was writing.

And i got bored with letters so i had a brief attempt at numbers. It helped me decide i like letters more than numbers. They look nicer for one

It's a crime to be creative in this family...

i escaped the dog, just about, however there will be a rematch as of next monday, plus with birthday festivities and carveries on the horizon i think i better update this sooner rather than later.

The images are kind of odd looking as they're photos rather than scans.

This was something my brother said (its from the lovely bones) but he said it in the heat of an argument. It was hilarious and lame at the same time.

This is an alphabet of hand drawn type. I'm becoming obsessed i know...

My sister wanted me to draw like a spaceman. I didn't know what she meant, so i just drew this. I am still a bit perplexed as to what she meant

I've been being held hostage by a dog

hence the lack of pictures. I wish i was joking.

Here is something from a while ago. It was an attempt to draw people (nooooooooo) and to use something that isn't a fine line pen (noooooooo) that wasn't black (noooooooooo)

I am not very good at teeth, there just ended up looking like there was millions of teeth that didn't really fit in the mouth. I know how to solve this though - don't draw open mouths

A2B - Arthritis inducing amounts of drawing

These are a set of three images that i drew for a project entitled A2B. I used the idea of answering the brief by only using a 2B pencil. These are scanned in and sewn together sections of what was a completed 20 metre roll of paper. Click on the image and you can see it larger!

This first section of the roll was the first whole pencil i used. It was based on what you can draw without any restrictions. However this complete freedom was a bit overwhelming at times. I really enjoyed the hand drawn type though and knew i wanted to use this again.

This is the second section. Following on from the hand drawn type element of the previous section i drew a series of A's. This was more enjoyable but did get a bit monotonous. Also i feel there is a bit too much white space.

This is the final section of the roll. The idea behind this was to go from the beginning of he dictionary at A to the end of the B section. In total this would have been 93 pages of the Dictionary and after a week of almost continuous drawing i realised it wouldn't be possible as i wasn't even on AB yet. So instead i decided to go from A to he end of AB. This was definitely the most enjoyable part and i think its really effective.

Definitely the best thing i produced during my first year anyway!
